This listing is for (1) quality aftermarket packing kit for an 8-1/2" Rotary In-Ground lift. This kit consists of (1) seal, and (1) O-ring (JG227), and will repack one cylinder for Rotary 8-1/2" in-ground cylinders with jack serial numbers JG188/JG189 and above.
If you're having trouble identifying the lift, the jack serial # can usually be found stamped on the plunger itself just underneath the superstructure.
This "new style" seal also fits model DTO28H side x side In-Ground lift introduced in 1988. The new style (blue) includes the wiper incorporated within the seal itself.
Before ordering please take a look at the upper gland that is flush with the floor. If the upper gland is stamped with a "JG512" then this is the correct seal for your lift. This gland is also cast iron and was introduced in 1988. If your gland is made of aluminum please contact us to determine the correct packing kit you need.

In ground 8 1/2" lift packing kit for rotary lift
This is a good kit, however there is one problem with it that could be easily fixed. The large o-ring supplied for mating the cylinder head to the ram main body is too small in circumference and wants to roll out of the groove of the main body, requiring that you painstakingly glue it into its receiver groove in rams main body! This needs looked at and can be easily remedied by making the o-ring a little larger which would fix the problem entirely! As a retired mechanic of fifty years I know what I am talking about!
